Our History
The Bonafiglia Foundation’s founder, Bruce Bonafiglia, was born and raised in the historic Town of Seneca Falls. Throughout his life Bruce’s parents bestowed in him the value of community and public service. His mom, Agnes “Aggie,” was a humble caretaker who devoted her life to serving individuals with mental illness. She frequently would invite these individuals into her home to experience togetherness & family on the holidays. Bruce’s father, Angelo “Ang,” was a social, outgoing man, actively involved with local community initiatives and projects. Angelo’s entrepreneurial spirit culminated in the opening of BonaDent, a small dental laboratory, which developed a platform for Bruce to foster and evolve his parents’ philanthropic spirit.
After his father’s retirement in 1986, Bruce became President of BonaDent and has taken the family business to tremendous heights becoming an industry leader in the dental technology field. To this day, BonaDent Dental Laboratories continues to provide opportunities for local residents to attain & develop thriving careers and sustainability for their families.
Although Bruce is proud of his professional achievements, sharing life experiences with his family gives him the greatest personal fulfillment, “I’ve always felt a deep sense of responsibility as a dad to share quality time with my daughters and their families. That time can be spent at a Sunday dinner table or in a foreign country, new city, ski slopes, etc. The time we share together can sometimes just be fun but often it is more meaningful and maybe a bit instructional!”
Over the years Bruce has given back to the people and places he values and believes in, and in 2021 with the support of his family, he established the Bonafiglia Family Foundation Inc. Bruce hopes the foundation can motivate transformational impact and continue to support individuals and groups who also love and value the Town of Seneca Falls and neighboring communities.
